We look forward to sharing our adventures in beekeeping, apiculture, hunting, camping and natural foods! We'd love to cultivate a community who share in both beekeeping and our hunting traditions. Natural organic foods and agribusiness can go hand in hand for a sustainable food supply and overall health of humanity by getting back to an all organic diet without chemicals and GMOs.

The start

In August I bought 20 acres of land. This past November, I started my LLC. I bought bee hives, I ordered package bees (to be picked up in late April), I continue to clear out dead mesquite trees, and I enjoy my time in the quite on my land. I have hunted most weekends. I also have been clearing enough space for a 300 yard gun range! The big projects are: getting electric to property, getting a water well drilled, and eventually septic for cabins I have designed and will build this spring. Lets face it, Texas weather is unpredictable at best. On a hunting trip in early November, I froze at night and was a bit warm after mid morning. My tent was iced over every morning. It was miserable! I only have a small 3 season tent, not made for cold weather.

Cabins it is! I do not want to freeze again, next fall and winter. Also, it'll be nice to have some A/C in the hot summers out in west Texas, on the Bee Ranch. I'll be posting some videos of my adventures, hunting and shooting vids will be behind the paywall, which I have yet to set up. It'll happen though! I promise!

More later,
Marcus

WTF?

Somebody left this on my widshield. Anyone know what this is or means? I recognise a few of the smaller symbols, like the octogram in the middle and the double fish symbol the encircles the whole thing.

My dog is hilarious!

I wanted to share a little about my dog, Antoine (we call him Andy most of the time). Pictures are worth a thousand words, so it has been said. He is a big softy, loving and not exactly a lap dog. It doesn't stop him from laying on you though. I think he is a Catahoula or Louisiana Cattle Dog. His eyes, coat and demeanor are typical of the breed. His left eye is marbled, the top half is brown and bottom half is blue (like his right eye). He loves to chase anything small and furry. He's never caught a squirrel or bunny and frankly, I doubt he knows what to do with one if he ever caught one.

Every so often I take him with me in the Jeep to the ranch and let him explore while I work or just relax in nature. All he does is mark every few feet and stick his nose into everything out there! I have had to pull a few cactus needles out of his nose and paws because he found a new smell. I wish I had video of the time my wife and I let him chase some wild turkeys. That was funny! Also ...
